05:31 pm: At least I didn't have to work
I had planned to get up extra early this morning to take care of chores around the house before it started to heat up.

That plan went out the window when I stood up and realized that the light sniffling that had been bothering me since the girls left had turned into woozy-headedness. I did manage to get some laundry and dishes done, but mostly I just napped.

One thing I forgot to mention from my grocery shopping trip yesterday...while I was at the store, I saw a sign that there's a nationwide shortage of agar because they can't keep up with the sudden rise in demand. I was rather amused. They really take their seasonal foods seriously here.

Hope you'll feel better soon, a fuzzed-up head just sucks. ^^;;

I'm curious, this agar thing...is it the stuff they use to make jelly/jello? Hard, long, crinkly, white/almost transparent stuff? (I hope that came out right...)

No, Jell-O is made from gelatin, which is an animal product. Agar is from seaweed.

It's what scientists use to grow things in Petri dishes.

Hard, long, crinkly, white/almost transparent stuff?

It's sometimes sold in that form. It also comes as a white powder.

Feel better soon!

So what's the seasonal dish that's using up all the agar?

They make agar desserts (with fruit inside) and agar noodles in the summer. It's supposed to make you feel cooler, I guess.

I'm sorry to hear about the woozies. Yet, you still took time and energy out to post. Thank you. Some of those wonderful teas should help...lots of fluids, green teas, plenty of rest...

I hope you get better right away.
