01:07 pm: Tulips in June
Despite the fact that it was gray and rainy yesterday, I had the urge to Go and Do Something. Since I needed to buy the drawstring for my handbag anyway, I decided to hit every craft store from here to Kyoto. ^_^; (Why isn't there ever anyone around to stop me when I'm in this mood?)

So, I went to a bunch of different places and came back with quite a haul. Not only did I get the drawstring, I also got supplies to make presents for at least three people.

I finished up the handbag today, as you can see in the picture. I succumbed to perfectionism and removed the poorly cut piece, replacing it with one that had the proper dimensions. This added about an extra two hours, but I think the result is worth it.

It's lovely! ^-^ Are those tulips on the end of the strings?

Technically, it's one of several standard shapes used for concealing the drawstring knots. But it looked tulipy, so I played it up by making the color match the flower print.

Pretty! I really like the matching ornaments on the ends of the drawstring.

Very, very nice!

What a lovely complement to the yukata! The details really make it special. It looks to be a very good size, too. I'd guess it could probably hold a book, right?...and maybe a small notebook journal?

<g> It could hold several Japanese-sized books. That's one reason I chose this particular pattern, rather than one of the smaller versions.

...and maybe a small notebook journal?
