The brownies went over rather well. I think, however, the ones who ate them were mostly women. (At least, they were the only ones who thanked me for them.) Two of the teachers asked me for the recipe, which was just something random I pulled off the internet that let me use cocoa powder (which I have) rather than baker's chocolate (which I don't have). They turned out less sweet/more bitter than the regular American brownie-mix version, which is probably why the teachers liked them. Japanese chocolates are often coated with unsweetened cocoa powder.
This week is official Ski/Snowboard Instruction Week, during which the students will be taken out on an overnight trip to practice their skill at falling on their butts winter sports. This means my schedule will be even lighter than usual.
