I'm glad I'm not in Niigata right now...

I turned on the news because I felt a slight earthquake...seems it was two prefectures away from here. Anyway, the opening story is about some refugees from the Niigata earthquakes who still haven't been able to return to living in their homes, yet are going to their villages to shovel the snow off the roofs of the houses. Over three feet of snow have accumulated, and if they don't shovel it off, the houses will collapse under the weight. There are many wonderful things about Niigata, but I really don't miss the snow.

This morning I spent working on enju's present. ...I shall call it an early Valentine's Day present. For once, miraculously, I managed to get through without sewing anything on inside-out or backwards. It's done except for the decorations, which I took to school Friday to work on during my free time and left on my desk. I'm hoping to get them taken care of when I go back on Tuesday.
