The bean harvest has begun in earnest this week. My results so far are promising. Of this early batch, the one I'm most excited about is the one on the far right end of the top row. It's a manually cross-pollinated hybrid between Four Corners Gold and Rio Zape. I find it fascinating that the color looks nothing like either parent. I'll be very interested in seeing what the next generation will be like next year.
There are still a number of potential varieties that have yet to mature. Hopefully a lot of them will be ready in the next two weeks.
Aside from picking beans, I've been spending all of my free time this past week finishing up a board game I've been developing since last year. I finally got all the art, layout, and rules completed. It now has an official entry in the BGG database.
