07:53 pm: By hook or by crook
I've been spending nearly every spare minute this week trying to finish the baby blanket for my nephew. I was hoping to complete it in time to mail it out on Saturday, but it took substantially longer than I expected. It was particularly frustrating when I ran out of white with only one row left and had to make a trip to Joann to pick up more. The blanket is finally done, though, and now I need to figure out when would be the best time to take it to the post office.

Saturday I took some time away from crocheting to plant my spring potatoes. While I was out working, I harvested some early rhubarb (along with my first home-grown kumquats).

That is a super gorgeous blanket!

Thank you!

I so loved that custard kumquat tart. I wonder if rhubarb could go in that?

That was actually a loquat tart, not kumquat. I haven't gotten any loquats yet, sadly. I don't know how many years it will take for that tree to begin fruiting.
