07:53 pm: By hook or by crook
I've been spending nearly every spare minute this week trying to finish the baby blanket for my nephew. I was hoping to complete it in time to mail it out on Saturday, but it took substantially longer than I expected. It was particularly frustrating when I ran out of white with only one row left and had to make a trip to Joann to pick up more. The blanket is finally done, though, and now I need to figure out when would be the best time to take it to the post office.

Saturday I took some time away from crocheting to plant my spring potatoes. While I was out working, I harvested some early rhubarb (along with my first home-grown kumquats).

The baby blanket is adorable! (Sadly, I have a childhood fear of rhubarb, but yay! kumquats.)

I hope I get more kumquats next year. I know the tree has the capacity to produce a lot, it just hasn't done much yet.
