06:31 pm: Power shopping
I used my afternoon off to run errands. It is amazing how much shopping one can get done in a single afternoon. I got more craft supplies, some comics, a new winter sweater and turtleneck, a CD-ROM of clip art for making New Year postcards, and new ink cartridges to fix my printer (which suddenly went wonky over the weekend but now appears to be working fine).

Things I learned:
  • A Nightmare Before Christmas game for the PS2 was apparently released a short while ago. The article I read says it's a sequel to the movie, which makes me really curious what it's like.
  • There is computer software available to do Japanese calligraphy, letting you choose brushes and paper texture and ink quality and all kinds of things. Wow.

    Nightmare Before Christmas game

We hadn't heard about the game being out, so we looked it up. I guess it won't be released in the USA until February or so. It sounds good, though.

That's strange. You'd think they'd market it to come out in time for Halloween, like they did here. Or at least Christmas. What holiday are they aiming for over there, Valentine's Day? Oh, well, I'm sure there are a lot of people who would get it no matter when it's released.

Reading the information about it leads me to suspect they originally intended for it to come out in October. Rob thought maybe they're running behind in the translation department or something. They've got notices that it is being delayed and projected for release in February.

Interesting you should ask that question. (What holiday are they aiming for ...?) I was asking Rob which holiday they were getting in Japan, and it seemed as though most of the holidays in the movie were actually US holidays.
