The seniors have finished their last full week of school. There are only three days next week, then final exams start. My students all gave their speeches, though some just finished writing them mere hours before they had to present (despite having been given the assignment at the beginning of December), and therefore didn't do so well. The hardest part, for some, was trying to speak loudly enough to be heard over the two kerosene heaters (with fans) in the room. (My team teacher commented to some of them, "But your voice carries so well when you are talking during class...")
Then the stoves ran out of kerosene. Easier to hear, but markedly less pleasant. It may not be cold enough for snow, but it's still chilly enough to want heat.
The biggest event of the week for me was the release of the World of Warcraft expansion pack. In this expansion, two new races were introduced, and a new area was created for high level characters to explore. Glaya is currently exploring this new area and gradually working her way up to level 70. I also made a couple characters from one of the new races. Illya is a Draenei, an alien race whose dimensional craft crash landed. She is a shaman, a class newly available to the Alliance. I hope to make at least one character from the other new race eventually.
