08:40 pm: You can't go wrong with "switched at birth"
My third-year students are going to be given an assignment to write a skit over the next couple of weeks, and I was tapped to compose an example for my team teacher and I to perform. I agonized over this for a while. It was requested to be A) short and B) funny...keeping in mind that it has to be funny to EFL students. This requires either slapstick humor that they can pick up from gestures or else really simple and easy to understand gags.

This morning I finally settled on a short piece about a princess and her maid. Just when the princess thinks she's going to marry a handsome prince, she finds out that she and the maid had actually been switched at birth, and the maid is the real princess.

When I showed it to my team teacher this morning, she was amazed by the drama. She commented that it could be a TV series. ^_^; (She's a Winter Sonata fan.)

I'm going to be having a number of solo classes with the third-year students between now and next Tuesday to cover for my team teacher who's going with the second-year students on their class trip. They're not leaving until Wednesday, but their brains are already in Okinawa.

In other news, three student teachers arrived today, all English majors. I was given a copy of their schedule. Today they apparently had to listen to a bunch of lectures. They'll start observing classes tomorrow.

Great idea!

The drama sounds wonderful! I hope it's a great inspiration to the students.

I hope you enjoy the solo days with your third year students as well as the time with the student teachers. I'll love to hear how that goes.
