06:56 pm: A potato chip by any other...flavor
Another day, another bunny lesson. If I keep up a rate of one per day, I will have exhausted the breadth of my knowledge before the week is out.

I went out hunting for the books I couldn't get yesterday, but still no luck. ;_;

While I was out, I picked up a few groceries. I got several bags of potato chips in a flavor that I really like. With Japanese flavors, there's no telling when they'll stop being available.

Japanese potato chip flavors are just...wacky. The most common flavors are lightly salted, nori (seaweed), and consommé. Many of the wilder flavors are meat-based, so I haven't ever tried them. Examples include tuna/mayonnaise and Kansai fish broth flavors, though no animal is safe. Shrimp, octopus, oysters, chicken, all are fair game for potato chip flavors.

The other day I tried two new non-meat varieties, basil/salt/pepper and citrus/pepper. The latter was...well...different, I can say that for certain.

The kind I bought today are not that...special. They're sour cream and onion, though a very mild flavor that doesn't have the biting saltiness of most other sour cream and onion chips I've ever had. The thing I like about them, though, is that the product name is Oh! Chips. <g>

I finally found City of Glass in a bookstore that I never go in because the BL section is so tiny. It wasn't even with the new releases, it was already on the shelf. It was probably their only copy. I don't know why none of my normal bookstores didn't have it. Book distribution is a mystery to me. The new Fujiwara Kiyo manga that was released last month, for instance, I never saw anywhere. Either every store in the Tokyo area sold out incredibly fast, or they never got it.

Oh! Chips.

That's so cute! I haven't seen that around here anywhere. I'm totally hooked on Ozack's garlic and cheese chips, though. Mmmm.

I tried three different bookstores and couldn't find it. I asked at one of the stores, and I was told that they were already sold out. ;_; Either it's incredibly popular, or they didn't order very many copies to begin with.

I've only seen it at one store. They must not distribute it very broadly.

Crab flavor chips are pretty common on the Mid-Atlantic coast in the US.

I love the crab chips! Whenever we are down from New England to MD or VA, I always have to get some :-)
