05:35 am: I've been Cultured
Sunday, my neighborhood had a small Culture Festival. Mainly, there was a table for local farmers selling fresh vegetables, someone selling popcorn, another person selling cotton candy, and a display of arts and crafts by residents. Oh, plus a kids' area. Not a whole lot to do, though I did look at the arts and crafts, some of which were very impressive. I also got my doorprize, which was a pair of lightbulbs. I'm sure they will turn out to be useful.

My classes went pretty much as usual on Monday. I asked my small class of third-year students if anyone would be willing to beta-read the novel I wrote as my project at JCMU, since they're the target age group, and I got two volunteers. I hope they like it...but more than that, I hope they can give me some good comments. Anything that can increase my chances of doing well in the writing contest in January will be appreciated.

A beta read, huh?

How cool! I hope you are able to ask them good questions so that they will feel free to give you good comments. There might be a cultural thing that would keep them from criticizing your work in any way. But I don't really know what I'm talking about.

Good luck!
Love,
Mom
